How to use the SolarCooker?
The SolarCooker is correctly oriented when the reflection is visible on the hob. Follow the movement of the sun with a slight turn every half an hour. The cooking time varies according to the season and.position of the sun. Look for a sheltered place as the wind may cool the cooking zone. After using ,make sure you turn the SolarCooker away from the sun to prevent overheating of the cooking plate.
Use preferably a black or dark-colored pot that absorbs the heat up. (Plastics handles should be protected with some aluminum foil)
What can I prepare?
All cooked dishes can be prepared : soup, potatoes, vegetables, spaghetti, rice, etc .
The oven is also ideal for making stews, casseroles or tajines. Replace the black cooktop with a griddle, and you can even grill meat or vegetables.
At noon, half an hour should be enough to get 2 liters of fluid to boiling temperature.
Calculate for stews or tajines about the same cooking time as with conventional ovens.
Which containers can I use?
Use the SolarCooker, preferably with black pots, pans, grill plate, teapots, tajines, espresso pots, casseroles, etc. .. Do without plastic or wooden handle, and no shiny or reflective materials.
